Content Management SystemsThere are various types of content management systems. Web content management systems are the type of CMS I provide, suited primarily to individuals and small to medium organisations wanting control of their own website content.
There are two primary types of Content Management Systems, Web CMS and Enterprise CMS.
A Web CMS is designed to simplify the publication of ‘web content’ to websites, in particular allowing content creators to submit content without requiring technical knowledge of web based programming languages. The content is created, edited, managed and published directly online without the need to separately upload modified files to the hosting server.
Enterprise content management systems handle content, documents, details and records related to the organisational processes of an enterprise usually found in large Multi-National Corporations and National and Regional Government organisations where a large diversity exists in both content type and location.
